What we promise, and what we don't.

This product exists because used car claims are easy to make and hard to check. It would be self-defeating to describe it in language that is itself hard to check, so these terms are written to be read.

Who you are dealing with

PeachStamp is operated from the United Kingdom and is currently run by a single person. It is at an early stage: some features described on the site are demonstrations, and the service may change or be withdrawn. Contact: hello@peachstamp.com.

What the service is

PeachStamp is a record-keeping and evidence tool. It stores documents you upload, seals them so later alteration is detectable, cross-checks the mileages you enter against official MOT test records, and presents the result.

It is not an inspection, a valuation, or a warranty. Nobody from PeachStamp sees your car. Everything the service says is derived from documents you or a seller provided and from public records — it describes the paperwork, not the vehicle.

What sealing proves — and what it doesn't

When you upload a document we calculate a cryptographic fingerprint of the file and, where possible, obtain an independent timestamp from a third-party authority. Anyone can later recompute that fingerprint and confirm the file has not changed.

Sealing proves a document existed on a date and has not been altered since. It does not prove the document is true. A fabricated invoice can be sealed exactly as easily as a genuine one — what sealing removes is the ability to quietly change a document later, once its contents have become inconvenient.

This is why the service grades evidence rather than reducing it to a single verdict. A record whose mileage sits correctly between two official MOT readings is telling you something a sealed document alone cannot.

Vehicle data

MOT test history comes from the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency. We present it as received and cannot correct it — if a reading is wrong, that is a matter for the testing station or DVSA.

We do not hold DVLA keeper records, and nothing on this site tells you how many previous owners a car has had, whether it is stolen, whether outstanding finance is registered against it, or whether it has been written off. Those are separate checks from separate providers and this service is not a substitute for them.

The buyer's report

A buyer's report combines the documents supplied for a vehicle with published information about what typically fails on that model, and sets out what the paperwork demonstrates and what it leaves open. Parts of it are generated by an AI model.

It reasons from supplied evidence only. Work that was done but never documented, or documented and not supplied, is invisible to it.
Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. Where a report says there is no record of a cambelt change, that means exactly what it says. It does not mean the cambelt was not changed.
AI-generated analysis can be wrong. It can misread a document, miss something a person would notice, or repeat an inaccuracy from a source it cites.
It is not a mechanical inspection. No document review detects a failing clutch, corrosion, accident repair or a fault that has not yet been diagnosed.

A report is one input into your decision. It is not a recommendation to buy or not to buy, and it does not replace a pre-purchase inspection by a qualified person, a test drive, or a provenance check for finance, theft and write-off markers.

Your account and your content

You keep ownership of everything you upload. You give us permission to store it and to display it in the ways you choose — privately by default, publicly only where you turn that on, and to a buyer only where you hand a vehicle over.

You are responsible for what you upload, and by uploading you confirm that:

the documents relate to a vehicle you own or are entitled to hold records for;
they are genuine, and you have not altered them to misrepresent the vehicle;
you are entitled to share them with us.

Deliberately uploading falsified documents to make a vehicle appear better than it is may be fraud. We will close accounts used this way, and where a sealed document has been passed to a buyer we may retain evidence of what was sealed and when.

Sealed records are append-only. Once a document is sealed it cannot be edited — that is the point of it. You can delete records, and ask us to close your account and return your data; how that works is set out in the privacy policy.

Handing a vehicle to a buyer

When you hand a vehicle over, the buyer gains access to the records covering the period you owned it. They do not gain access to your account, your other vehicles, or anything recorded after the handover date. You cannot add records to a vehicle after handing it over.

Payment and cancellation

Reports are paid for individually and the price is shown before you buy. Because a report is generated and delivered immediately, you will be asked to agree at the point of purchase that you want it right away and understand that doing so ends the 14-day cancellation right that would otherwise apply to digital content bought online.

If a report fails to generate, or is obviously defective — empty, truncated, or about the wrong vehicle — tell us and we will refund it. This does not affect your legal rights.

Our responsibility to you

We will provide the service with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded — and if you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected by anything written here.

Subject to that: the service is a tool for organising and checking evidence, and the decision to buy, sell or price a vehicle remains yours. To the extent the law allows, our liability arising from a report is limited to the amount you paid for it, and we are not liable for business losses — lost profit, lost trade or lost opportunity.

We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, or that third-party data sources will be available or accurate.

Ending it

You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend an account that is being used to defraud someone, to upload content that isn't yours, or in a way that threatens the integrity of other people's records.

Changes and governing law

We will update these terms as the product develops, and material changes will be flagged in the app rather than made quietly. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes fall to the courts of England and Wales.
