What we promise, and what we don't.

This product exists because used car claims are easy to make and hard to check. It would be self-defeating to describe it in language that is itself hard to check, so these terms are written to be read.

What the service is

PeachStamp is a pre-purchase paperwork audit. Type a registration and you get a free summary of the car's official MOT record. For a fee you get a buyer's report: the faults this model is known for at its age and mileage, researched from published sources with a cost range where one is published; the seller's invoices, if you supply them, read and checked against the official mileage; and what the paperwork demonstrates and what it leaves open. You can also keep records against a car you own, sealed so that later alteration is detectable.

It is not an inspection or a warranty, and we do not value cars. Nobody from PeachStamp sees your car. Everything the service says is derived from documents you or a seller provided, from public records, and from data bought from commercial vehicle-data suppliers - it describes the paperwork, not the vehicle. Where a report shows a valuation, that figure is supplied by such a supplier for the car's official mileage and is shown as a guide; it is their estimate, not ours, and not an offer or an appraisal of the car in front of you.

Vehicle data

MOT test history comes from the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency. We present it as received and cannot correct it - if a reading is wrong, that is a matter for the testing station or DVSA.

We do not hold DVLA keeper records, and nothing on this site tells you how many previous owners a car has had, whether it is stolen, whether outstanding finance is registered against it, or whether it has been written off. Those are separate checks from separate providers and this service is not a substitute for them.

The buyer's report

A buyer's report combines the official MOT record, any documents supplied for the vehicle, and published information about what typically fails on that model at its age and mileage, and sets out what the paperwork demonstrates and what it leaves open. Parts of it are generated by an AI model and checked by a second one before delivery; for models outside our hand-researched set, the research is produced automatically from published sources and no person reviews it before you receive it.

• It reasons from supplied evidence only. Work that was done but never documented, or documented and not supplied, is invisible to it. Without any paperwork the report still prices the model's known faults but cannot say which of them this car's history covers.
• Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. Where a report says there is no record of a cambelt change, that means exactly what it says. It does not mean the cambelt was not changed.
• AI-generated analysis can be wrong. It can misread a document, miss something a person would notice, or repeat an inaccuracy from a source it cites.
• It is not a mechanical inspection. No document review detects a failing clutch, corrosion, accident repair or a fault that has not yet been diagnosed.

Who you are dealing with

PeachStamp is a trading name of Paddy Drewett, trading from 27 Old Gloucester Street, Holborn, London WC1N 3AX, United Kingdom.

We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office as a data controller.

PeachStamp is at an early stage: some features described on the site are demonstrations, and the service may change or be withdrawn.

Documents you upload

You keep ownership of everything you upload. You give us permission to store it, to read it for the purpose of the report or summary you asked for, and to display it in the ways you choose: privately by default, and to others only where you turn that on. By uploading you confirm that the documents relate to a vehicle you own, are buying or are entitled to hold records for; that they are genuine and you have not altered them to misrepresent the vehicle; and that you are entitled to share them with us.

Documents you keep against a car you own are sealed: fingerprinted and, where possible, independently timestamped, which proves a document existed on a date and has not been altered since. It does not prove the document is true. Sealed records cannot be edited, only deleted. Deliberately uploading falsified documents to make a vehicle appear better than it is may be fraud, and we will close accounts used this way. How deletion and account closure work is set out in the privacy policy.

Payment and cancellation

Reports are paid for individually and the price is shown before you buy. Because a report is generated and delivered immediately, you will be asked to agree at the point of purchase that you want it right away and understand that doing so ends the 14-day cancellation right that would otherwise apply to digital content bought online.

If a report fails to generate, or is obviously defective - empty, truncated, or about the wrong vehicle - tell us and we will refund it. This does not affect your legal rights.

Our responsibility to you

We will provide the service with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded - and if you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected by anything written here.

Subject to that: the service is a tool for organising and checking evidence, and the decision to buy, sell or price a vehicle remains yours. To the extent the law allows, our liability arising from a report is limited to the amount you paid for it, and we are not liable for business losses - lost profit, lost trade or lost opportunity.

We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, or that third-party data sources will be available or accurate.

Ending it

You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend an account that is being used to defraud someone, to upload content that isn't yours, or in a way that threatens the integrity of other people's records.

Changes and governing law

We will update these terms as the product develops, and material changes will be flagged in the app rather than made quietly. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes fall to the courts of England and Wales.
